Your Chevy. Your Gear. Your Road.
Alaskan Campers pack the comfort of a small RV and the control of your Chevrolet truck into one tough, hard-sided pop-up. Since 1957, our low-profile design has handled highways and backroads with ease—then lifted into a solid, weather-tight cabin when you park. Built in the U.S. and proven in every season, it leaves your hitch free to tow your boat, bikes, or trailer—so you can bring more of what makes the trip yours. No wasted space. No flimsy parts. Just a dependable rig that’s ready for decades of adventure.

Trucks We Support...
- Silverado 1500
- Silverado 2500HD / 3500HD
Solid middleweight pairing
Silverado 1500
The 5’8″ short bed on the Silverado 1500 isn’t compatible—stick with 6.5′ or 8′ beds for the best fit with an Alaskan Camper. Check your door-jamb sticker for payload; many well-optioned 4WD crew cabs run lighter. Near the limit? Ride-assist upgrades can boost stability (but not payload). Set up right, you’ll have a low-profile, all-season rig that still works like a truck.

The best fit for full-time or heavy-use travel
Silverado 2500HD / 3500HD
If you’re running a three-quarter or one-ton Silverado, you’ve got the truck most Alaskan owners dream of. Properly specced, these rigs carry our 8′ and 10′ models with ease—no major upgrades needed. Payload can range from around 3,200 lbs in well-optioned crew cab 4×4 diesels to 4,500+ lbs in lighter gas configurations, so check your door-jamb sticker. This capacity leaves room for longer trips, full tanks, and extra gear—whether that’s e-bikes, hunting equipment, or a winter’s worth of supplies. Matched right, it’s a low-profile, all-season setup with the muscle for any road you point it toward.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size camper fits my Chevy truck?
It depends on your model, bed length, and payload:
Colorado – Our 6.5′ camper can fit certain older-generation long-bed Colorados (~6′ bed). Most newer models (2023+) have shorter beds and aren’t compatible. Always confirm payload—off-road trims like the ZR2 often run lower.
Silverado 1500 – Compatible with 6.5′ or 8′ campers. The short 5’8″ bed isn’t a match. Payload varies by engine, cab, and drive, so check the door-jamb sticker before ordering.
Silverado 2500HD / 3500HD – Best suited for our 8′ and 10′ campers. With proper configuration, these trucks easily handle heavier builds, longer trips, and extra gear.
Need help figuring it out? Send us your VIN or specs, and we’ll match you with the right camper.
Do you support the Silverado EV?
Not at this time. The Silverado EV’s bed geometry and payload capacity aren’t compatible with current camper designs. GM has also stated it’s not designed for slide-in camper use.
Can I use a short bed truck?
Only if it’s a true 6.5′ bed or longer. Our campers won’t fit 5.5′ or 5.8′ beds—safe mounting and weight balance depend on that extra length.
What’s the weight of an Alaskan Camper?
Dry weight ranges from 1,550 to 2,250 lbs depending on model and options. We recommend checking your truck’s payload sticker (driver’s door jamb) to ensure proper capacity—and we’re happy to walk you through it.
Do you offer off-the-lot inventory?
Most are built to order, but we sometimes have finished units available. See our Available Inventory page or contact us for current options.
Can I tow a boat or small trailer with an Alaskan on my truck?
Yes! That’s the great thing about an Alaskan truck camper, you can tow your boat, a trailer or any of your camping toys. Whatever you normally would tow is still a possibility.
