Fortress on wheels

Traditional tent and fiberglass pop-ups simply cannot compare to the robust, solid-frame construction of an Alaskan Camper. Enhanced by superior insulation—R11 within the walls and R13 on the ceiling—our campers are designed to maintain a comfortable internal environment, no matter how harsh the weather outside becomes.

Step 2:

Foundation and framing

When designs are in place, we get to work framing the foundation, top, and bottom sections of your camper. It’s here, at our facility in Winlock, Washington where tradition meets technology. We combine CNC precision with the skill of master craftsmen to construct and assemble the most versatile and reliable campers available. After our shell is in place we get to work installing and testing electrical, plumbing, and heating systems.

Step 3:

Installing lift system

The hydraulic lift system is a key feature of Alaskan Campers, providing a seamless and efficient way to transition between a compact travel mode and an expanded living space. This innovative system, powered by a reliable hydraulic pump, allows for easy and quick raising and lowering of the camper’s hard-sided walls, offering both convenience and stability.
Benefits of a hydraulic pop-up:

  • Improved aerodynamics; lowered state minimizes wind resistance, enhancing fuel efficiency.
  • Expanded living space; offers a high-ceilinged interior, increasing the usable space while camping.
  • Ease of use; effortlessly switch between compact travel mode and expanded living space with the push of a button.

Interior features and finishes

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of wood is used during the framing process?

Our campers are constructed using premium laminated wood beams and top-grade multi-ply marine-grade plywood, chosen for their optimal balance of durability, weight, and robustness. Every piece of wood undergoes meticulous inspection to ensure it is free of imperfections, contributing to the camper’s lasting quality and strong, lightweight framework.

How heavy is a typical Alaskan Camper?

Loaded (or wet) weight can range based on the length of the camper—from roughly 1,500 lbs for a 6.5’ to 2,500 lbs for the 10’ model.

How long does it take to build my Alaskan?

Depending on the options and features you’ve chosen it usually takes four to five months to complete the build.

I did research and visited all the pop camper manufacturers in search of quality, low center of gravity, low profile rig to go deep into the wilderness. By far, Alaskan Campers beat out all the rest. The interior is pure quality. Also, as a young kid- about 8yrs old, my dad had a 50's vintage Alaskan. This was a nostalgic choice for me. Finally, Wow!, the build team was so experienced, friendly, and worked well as a team. Seeing that in person sold me. I knew I was going to get a great camper that was going to last.
