Back from Overland Expo Mountain West 2026

Three Alaskan campers, good company from Juniper Overland, and a very hot weekend in Loveland.

We’re back from Overland Expo Mountain West, where we spent August 21 to 23 at The Ranch Events Complex in Loveland, Colorado. It was a great weekend to see the campers, meet the teams, and remember why we pack a canopy.

We brought the HS 640 and 800 Flatbed to booth F307. Right next door, our Colorado dealer partner Juniper Overland had an 800 slide-in at their booth, giving visitors three different Alaskan setups to explore within a few steps.

A Big Weekend at The Ranch

This year’s show welcomed 18,500 attendees from all 50 states and 14 countries, with 335 exhibitors and nearly 300 classes, demonstrations, and activities. More than 9,000 attendees were experiencing Overland Expo for the first time.

They arrived to an updated venue, with more green space, improved walkability, and a newly leveled central event area. Between the camper displays, driving courses, and training sessions, there was plenty to explore beyond our corner of the grounds.

Our friends at Bowen Customs also sponsored Friday’s happy hour, adding another Colorado connection to a weekend that already included their work beneath our 800 Flatbed.

Two Rigs at Booth F307

Both campers arrived with some recent road experience. After Overland Expo PNW, Christina Luppi of Huntress Offroad and Colten Stephens of Reality Film Co. took the rigs on a seven-day trip across the Pacific Northwest, covering beach sand, tight forest trails, and two attempts to land a campsite with a view of Mount Rainier. Mountain West brought them back to the show floor for a closer look.

The 800 Flatbed paired our telescoping hard-sided camper with a custom Bowen Customs aluminum bed made in Arvada, Colorado. The setup combines living space above with exterior storage below, giving wet or dirty gear a place outside the camper. With the roof raised and entry steps out, visitors could see how the camper and flatbed work together as a complete build.

Alongside it, the HS 640 offered a different approach through its fixed roof and composite construction. Following its public debut in Redmond, this was another opportunity to step inside and compare its layout, storage, and overall footprint with a telescoping Alaskan.

Good Neighbors in Juniper Overland

A big thank-you to Juniper Overland, our dealer partner and a great collaborator throughout the show. Their 800 slide-in featured the Klondike interior package, bringing warm wood-grain finishes and the traditional Alaskan slide-in configuration to the mix.

Having Juniper next door made the comparison especially useful. Visitors could explore a fixed-roof camper, a full flatbed build, and a traditional slide-in without crossing the show grounds. Standing inside each one helps put practical decisions into perspective: how the layout feels, where your gear would go, and which configuration makes sense for your truck.

Juniper’s Denver team works with both campers and the vehicles that carry them, including suspension, bumpers, wheels, and power systems. That broader experience matters when you’re planning a build, because choosing the camper is one part of getting the whole setup right.
