Coming Soon: The Alaskan Ambassador Program
October 4, 2026
We’re putting together a new way to see an Alaskan in person and talk with an owner before choosing your camper. Watch for the launch in the coming weeks.
You’ve compared floor plans, watched the top go up on video, and read an owner story or two. You can picture an Alaskan parked beside a mountain lake, with the coffee on and nowhere you need to be.
It’s a good picture. But before you choose a camper, you probably want to know how it feels when the rain starts, the jackets come inside, and the dog decides the aisle is his.
Those are easier questions to explore when you can step inside and talk with someone who has spent time there. Our headquarters in Winlock, Washington, may be a long drive from home, though, and a dealer visit or upcoming show doesn’t always fit your location or schedule.
So we’re bringing more owners into the conversation.
The Alaskan Ambassador Program will connect prospective buyers with volunteer owners who are willing to show their campers, answer questions, and share what they’ve learned on the road. We’re preparing the program now and will introduce our first Ambassadors in the coming weeks.
A Closer Look, Closer to Home
Choosing a camper involves plenty of homework, from matching it to your truck to deciding which layout and equipment suit your trips. At some point, it helps to put down the spec sheet and sit at the dinette.
When the program launches, here’s how you’ll be able to take a closer look:
- Find an Ambassador. Browse participating owners by location and camper to find a setup you’re interested in.
- Request an introduction. Fill out the form and tell us what you’d like to see or learn.
- Let us coordinate. Our team will confirm the owner’s availability before making an introduction. Personal contact information will be shared only with permission.
- Arrange a visit. Choose a time and place with the owner, then step inside, explore the setup, and bring your questions.
An owner can share which features earn their place, where the fishing gear goes, and what packing up looks like before an early start. Our team will help with current models, options, pricing, and truck compatibility.
You won’t need to be ready to order. A visit is another way to figure out what fits your plans before taking the next step.
WHAT YOU CAN LEARN FROM an OWNER
An Ambassador visit will give you a chance to see an Alaskan up close and hear how it works for someone who camps in it. Tell the owner about the trips you have in mind, whether that’s moving between trailheads every day or spending a week at your favorite fishing spot. Their experience can help you think through the space, equipment, and routines that would suit you.
A few questions worth bringing:
- Why did you choose this model and layout?
- What’s involved in setting up camp and packing up to leave?
- Where do you store your gear?
- What surprised you during your first season?
- Which options do you use most, and what would you choose differently?
- Do you keep the camper on your truck between trips or unload it?
- How has it worked for you in cold, hot, or wet weather?
If you’re considering a telescoping Alaskan, ask to see the top raised and lowered. Watching the process and asking questions along the way can help you picture your own arrival at camp.
Each owner will be showing their own camper, which may differ from the models we build today. For current features, pricing, ordering, and compatibility with your truck, our team will help you work through the details.
You May Recognize a Few Faces
Some of our future Ambassadors have already shared their stories in Alaskan Life, including Mike Darlington. After years of rebuilding campers and a six-month trip through all 48 contiguous states with his wife, Sarah, Mike chose an Alaskan 650 for mountain-bike races, shorter getaways, and travel with their young son. He wanted the comfort they’d enjoyed in their Class C in something more nimble. Having owned everything from soft-sided pop-ups to a motorhome, he had plenty to compare it with.
Read The Middle Ground for the full story. When the program launches, conversations with owners like Mike will give you a chance to ask what they miss from previous rigs, what they’re happy to leave behind, and what they’d choose again.

What’s Coming Next
We’re finishing the program page and getting our first group of Ambassadors ready. Once it launches, you’ll be able to explore participating owners by location and camper, then request an introduction through Alaskan.
Our team will confirm availability before connecting you. Visits will depend on the owner’s location and schedule, and personal contact information will be shared only with permission.
If you own an Alaskan and would like to participate, we’d like to hear from you, too. Contact our team with your location and model, and we’ll explain what’s involved.
Keep an Eye Out in the Coming Weeks
Thank you to the owners volunteering their time and experience. You remember the questions you had before choosing your camper, and we’re grateful you’re willing to help someone else work through theirs.
Watch for the Alaskan Ambassador Program launch in the coming weeks.
