Getting Off-Grid in the Idaho Panhandle
Join us as we catch up with Carl Chidiac, an avid adventurer exploring Northern Idaho with his wife, Lisa, and their new Alaskan Camper.

I don’t like campgrounds. To me, it’s not really getting away. It’s more like people getting in your way.

Rick Sink brought his daughter and grandkids to rivers and lakes south of Lake Tahoe in his new Alaskan Camper.

Every time I set up or break down camp, I’m reminded of how perfectly this camper fits my lifestyle. People always stop to compliment my ‘awesome rig,’ and I can’t help but talk it up. Honestly, it’s hard not to sound like a salesman again!

When I look around my camper, I notice all the little details. Everything is so well thought out—a result only possible from building these since 1956. It's about seeing the beauty in the details.

We winged it! We didn’t over plan—we just picked a mileage goal, booked campgrounds on the fly, and let the road do the rest.

We love to explore areas throughout the Northwest in pursuit of remote, small stream fly fishing. Over the years, getting to upgrade to the Alaskan from truck camping is a game changer! Rather than wake up in the morning and get the coffee going in below freezing temps, we can now make and enjoy a cup in our PJs—this luxury still puts a smile on my face. Also, we have appreciated the top-notch customer support before, during, and after the buying process.

I love it. I can go off-grid with it and pull to a lakeshore—pull up anywhere, really—and be there for three or four days and not have to worry about anything but enjoying yourself.

I’ve really come to love the Alaskan’s thoughtful design and how functional it is once you get the hang of it!

A special shout out to Jen and Mike at the factory. They hung around after hours waiting for a part for my camper. That was above and beyond, and the personable nature of all was appreciated and did not go unnoticed.

I did extensive research and with the low profile design, the years of Alaskan’s reputation for quality as well as hard sided design, it made my choice obvious to choose Alaskan Campers.

This is our third Alaskan over the past 28 years. They’re the perfect rig for the way we like to explore.
